IVI's Energy Reduction Solutions' experience conducting building energy usage studies goes back to the 1973 oil embargo and the subsequent sensitivity to energy costs that ensued. Given the post 1973 increase in energy costs, the public awareness of the vast majority of energy coming from non-renewable resources, and the consciousness of sustainability, building owners are taking a closer look at energy consumption.
