Position: Vice President Business Development (Los Angeles, CA)

Overview:

The Vice President of Business Development is predominately responsible for business-to-business consultative selling of due diligence services and construction monitoring on behalf of commercial mortgagees and equity investors. 

 

The target market will be lenders and investors, as well as insurance companies, pension plans, pension plan advisors, asset managers, real estate investors and advisors, HUD lenders, SBA lenders, real estate practices of law firms, property managers, special servicers, REITs, mortgage brokers, property owners, labor unions, corporate real estate departments and other types of real estate lenders, investors, and servicers.


Responsibilities:
  • Meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Make regular sales calls to develop and maintain industry contacts.
  • Follow-up on sales leads.
  • Source leads to generate new client relationships.
  • Conduct sales presentations, prepare and present educational seminars market segments, and assist with the preparation of proposals. 
  • Utilize consultative sales techniques and critical thinking skills to foster new client acquisition.
  • Balance the development of new business relationships with maintaining existing customers.
  • Obtain and maintain a high profile externally and through membership and attendance in industry and professional functions.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years business-to-business consultative sales experience.
  • Experience prospecting new clients.
  • History of exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong sense of urgency; ability to drive decision-making; possess hunter mentality.
  • Strong PC software knowledge including internet searches, databases and CRM programs.
  • Ability to travel and attend events in the evening.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and presentation skills.
