| IVI’s experience conducting building energy usage studies goes back to the 1973 oil embargo and the subsequent sensitivity to energy costs that ensued. Given the post 1973 increase in energy costs, the public awareness of the vast majority of energy coming from non-renewable resources, and the consciousness of sustainability and going “green,” building owners are taking a closer look at energy consumption.
An IVI Energy Conservation Study thoroughly examines a facility’s energy usage. Our studies examine historical energy usages for benchmarking purposes and then focus attention on those areas where significant savings can be realized. Improvements are prioritized and complete with implementation costs, projected savings, and a cost benefit analysis that considers residual value (if any), financing costs, and the projected increases in the cost of energy over the life of the specific improvement.
